The Star Map is the authority for sectors and missions in your current Pax Autocratica save. The official store confirms frontier expeditions and Sector Overlords, but it does not publish a complete current mission catalog. Read the live objective, conditions, and rewards instead of importing a Prologue or old EFAS route.
Build a current map record
For each visible destination, record the exact name, lock state, objective text, difficulty or threat indicators shown, promised reward class, and any prerequisite. Keep unavailable entries separate from completed ones. A grey destination may depend on campaign progress, research, or another mission; do not invent the gate.
Use the current directive date with the record. Early Access guidance and expedition repetition are active developer priorities, so map behavior may change quickly.
Choose a mission that removes a colony gate
Compare the visible reward or acquisition opportunity with the settlement’s current shortage. A mission that supplies the next research result, prisoner need, or equipment role can be more valuable than a harder destination with no immediate use.
Free appropriate storage, prison capacity, and workforce coverage before departure. If the objective is unknown, use a recoverable scouting squad and prioritize information over a complete clear.
Distinguish campaign, repeat, and endless states
Use only labels and behavior the current interface provides. Record whether completion changes the map, whether the mission can be selected again, and whether an apparent endless condition has an explicit exit or loop instruction. Community questions about “endless” missions prove confusion exists; they do not establish how every mission ends.
Handle an apparent progression lock
Return to the objective list and inspect completed mission results, research, core structures, and the Star Map. Reopen panels after a repair or unlock. If a named prerequisite is unmet, resolve that exact condition; random expansion makes the real gate harder to see.
When the displayed conditions are complete but the map does not update, keep a manual save and report the destination, objective, result, and current directive. The developers have acknowledged onboarding and expedition clarity work, so a reproducible state is valuable.
Maintain the catalog without false certainty
Add a sector or mission only after seeing it in the base game’s public branch. Keep boss identity and tactics on the Boss Guide or dedicated encounter page. Use the Progression Guide for colony-to-map gates and the Expedition Guide for departure and return preparation.
Give completed entries an outcome field. Note whether the map changed, a new destination appeared, a research or building condition changed, and which recovered assets reached the colony. The result screen alone may not show the downstream progression effect, so finish the record after the return debrief.
When two missions compete for attention, compare their downstream use. A lower-risk acquisition that activates a stalled production chain can prepare the squad for a harder campaign objective. A repeat mission can also serve as a controlled equipment or formation test when its conditions are already understood.
Archive entries that disappear after an update instead of deleting their context. Mark the directive and last observed state, then open a new current entry if the mission returns with changed text or behavior. This preserves history without presenting an inactive route as available today.
